Blog #4 Never Seen It- Alien Civilization

Something that I have never seen before but know is real is alien civilizations. In my opinion the universe is infinite, so this means that there is not only one alien civilization, there are an infinite amount. For the sake of this blog I will be focusing on an alien civilization that has the capabilities of traveling to other star systems and a civilization that is much more advanced compared to humanity. In order for an alien species to be able to travel between star systems/galaxies they have to be much more advanced than we are. I believe that close to light speed travel must be an invention for this civilization so this would make them leaps ahead of humanity.

For their home planet I envision it resembling a lot like the alien planets in the Halo video game series. Gigantic structures around the planet that harness energy from the core. Large arcs/buildings that reach into sky that hold all of the alien population. A visual comparison to this would be the idea of building an elevator to the moon. Their buildings would look very similar to this because as populations grow, buildings only get taller.

Another massive feature of this alien civilization is a dyson sphere surrounding a nearby star that provides the civilization with energy. A dyson sphere is a hypothetical megastructure that encompasses a star and captures a large amount of the energy that the star provides. This concept is basically like putting solar panels all around our sun and sending the energy back to earth. The concept of the dyson sphere has always been fascinating to me because in my opinion harnessing the energy from stars is the future of space travel past our star system. It would currently take 73,000 years to arrive at our closest star system, so it is considered impossible for us at this point.

Regarding the overall home planet. I believe that it would be massive version of Earth. Resources are the main driving force of innovation and technological progress so in my view they would be like Earth but three times the size. I have also mulled over the idea that the current home planet for the species is not the original planet. To reach these levels of technological progress before the original planet is unhabitable is extremely unlikely.

For this practice in remediation my mind immediately gravitated towards fake alien civilizations that I have seen in movies and games. This plays into the idea that everything is a remix because my idea of an alien civilization was filled with concepts that have been used before and was heavily inspired by the game Halo. Overall this exercise was very fun because I got to create my prediction of what an advanced alien civilization would look like and how much more they have progressed compared to humanity.
